She was a Valedictorian of Chilton High School, and received her teaching certificate at Southwest Texas State Teachers College where she majored in English and physical education. She taught in the Marlin and Bruceville-Eddy school districts.

Glendene taught Sunday School, especially in the International Department where she led many women to Christ. She set the example to her children on how to live a Christian life, reading God's word daily. Glendene lived a very active life and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially running, softball, basketball, and volleyball.
After loving the Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were important to her.
