Tues., 9/6/05 -- 8 am -- Connor's first trip to Tarrytown Dental
Upon arriving, Michelle greeted us warmly and took us on a tour of the practice. Then we waited in the conference room for our pre-exam consultation with Dr. Brinkley, who was very nice and very tall. After a rousing discussion of flouride toothpaste, he led us to the special chair.
Connor sat in my lap, Michelle covered us with the lead blanket, and we attempted to get x-rays of Connor's front teeth. We failed miserably. Then Dr. Brinkley wanted to use his tiny video camera to film and "count" Connor's teeth. Again, we failed miserably. Finally, we opted for pretending to be a lion, a hippo, and an alligator. This seemed to give Dr. Brinkley enough time to give Connor's teeth the once-over and declare his dental health to be excellent.
We were given the obligatory goodie bag and led back to the lobby. The bag included--much to our delight--a tiny yellow timer (think Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit) that we can use to ensure proper brushing duration.
